2022 is just about to end! It’s also a perfect time to reflect on the last year, reset ourselves and restart making new goals for next year. Everything we do in life comes down to three simple words: Reflect, Reset, Restart (RRR). 2023 should be a special year, structure it for yourself.

Reflect on the past year

The first step is to reflect on the past year. What have you achieved? What went wrong? What needs to be changed? Make a note of your successes and failures.

Make a list of good things that you have achieved

It is very important to reflect on your achievements at the end of each year. It is a great way to celebrate your successes and look back on what has been achieved. It is also a good habit to keep track of what you are doing well, because it will help to motivate yourself and will keep you motivated for the next year.

Make another list with mistakes and errors made during the year

It is also important to reflect on your mistakes and errors, because they can help you improve in the future. You should not be afraid of making mistakes, but try instead to learn from them so that they do not happen again. This is an important part of self-improvement, especially when it comes to business growth.

Write down why do you think they happened

Why did these mistakes occur? What were the contributing factors? What could you do to prevent such mistakes from happening again? These are some questions that may help us understand better why something happened and how we can avoid it in future.

Examine your emotional responses to failures and successes

Emotional responses to success and failure may be different from person to person because it depends on how you perceive it in the first place. So the way you experience success or failure can be unique but there are some common emotional responses that most people feel.

Emotions that you may experience when you fail include – being discouraged, ‘poor-me’ feeling, helplessness and hopelessness, feeling tired and exhausted, doubting your ability and experiencing lack of confidence.

Emotions when you succeed include – a sense of joy, excitement, increased self-esteem.

Being honest with yourself and aware of your emotions can help you create a strategy for avoiding situations leading to negative emotions.

Re- examine your priorities

You have the power to control your own happiness. When you want to change something in your life, you have to first re-examine your priorities and be true to what you really want.

You cannot be happy without a clear picture of what it is that makes you happy.

Take some time and think about what makes you happy and then decide how much time and effort you want to invest in each area of your life.

Let’s say that health is one of your top priorities but every time you go out with friends and have a few drinks or smoke cigarettes, it seems like everyone else is having fun so why can’t they just let me have my fun too? Well if that’s what makes them happy then good for them but if that’s not what makes YOU happy then maybe it’s time to re-examine your priorities again.
